February 1, 2000
To all the fans, friends, and 3eb family:
For those of you who feel you've been kept in the dark regarding Kevin's departure, we're
sorry and we appreciate your patience. We would love to describe the situation completely,
but unfortunately, there's only so much we can say right now. We also ask for your
understanding and patience. Our music continues to grow every day and we have already
written a new song together.
We really, really love you guys and can't wait to come play for you.

STEPHAN SIGHTING! Also, on Friday, January 28 the San Francisco Chronicle spotted
Stephan at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's Artists Ball A Go Go!, the third
annual gala fund-raiser for the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Here's a tidbit:
Stephan Jenkins of the San Francisco rock band Third Eye Blind was one of several celebrity guests who were advertised as participants in a dance contest that never quite materialized. Jenkins addressed the crowd anyway, as Supervisor Gavin Newsom, in a floppy black beret, cavorted onstage with the go-go dancers. ``All you hoity-toity out there,'' Jenkins said, ``save San Francisco for bohemia!''
From Elektra Records mailing list:
Third Eye Blind kicks off an extensive U.S. tour in support
of its new album "Blue" beginning March 2, but the band was still solidifying
the run of dates at press time. Third Eye Blind recently visited the Sundance Film
Festival, where they performed last night (January 24th). The band will soon return to San
Francisco to begin work on staging for the tour and also to start
rehearsing. Tomorrow, Third Eye Blind is scheduled to perform its red-hot single
"Never Let You Go" on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno, which airs at 10:35PM
Central Time on NBC.
From Wall of Sound:
Third Eye Blind Fires Guitarist
Not only did Third Eye Blind give guitarist Kevin Cadogan his walking papers, but
according to his Web site, frontman
Stephan Jenkins and the rest of the band stranded him in Salt Lake City to boot.
Drummer Brad Hargreaves broke the bad news to Cadogan Tuesday, following the band's
showcase performance at the
Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Cadogan's site (www.kevincadogan.com) reports
that he was "terminated and
stranded by Stephan Jenkins and Third Eye Blind." Cadogan's pictures and biography
have also been removed from the
official Third Eye Blind site (www.3eb.com).
The rest of the band seems to be shedding no tears over Cadogan's departure. "The
members of Third Eye Blind and one of
their principal guitarists have parted ways," the band says in a statement released
by its management. "Brad Hargreaves,
Stephan Jenkins, and Arion Salazar wish him every success. TEB welcomes back guitarist
Tony Fredianelli, who has joined
the group and will perform on the upcoming Dragons & Astronauts tour."
Fredianelli, the band's original guitarist, wasted no time in getting back into the
lineup, performing with the band on
NBC's Tonight Show With Jay Leno Wednesday.
Though media reports claim that the other members of the group and Cadogan haven't seen
eye to eye in quite some time, the
guitarist put pen to paper in December, writing a letter to the San Francisco Chronicle,
defending Jenkins.
Cadogan co-wrote 10 songs on the band's self-titled debut album, which went on to sell
more than 3 million copies. He also
co-wrote six songs on the band's recent album, Blue. Released in December, Third Eye
Blind's sophomore effort hasn't
followed in its predecessor's footsteps. Currently sitting at No. 52 on SoundScan's
charts, the album has sold fewer than
400,000 copies.

Third Eye Blind Ready for the Road
3EB plan U.S. tour in wake of guitarist's departure
Semi-charmed kinda tour
Amid the swirl of controversy surrounding Third Eye Blind's ouster of guitarist Kevin
Cadogan, the band is getting ready to tour in support of its latest album, Blue. With
original guitarist Tony Fredianelli brought back into the fold as Cadogan's replacement,
the band will kick off a series of dates on March 1 in Santa Barbara, California.
Meanwhile, the band has posted a letter on its official Website (www.3eb.com), addressing
"all the fans, friends, and 3eb family." The letter reads, in part, "For
those of you who feel you've been kept in the dark regarding Kevin's departure, we're
sorry and we appreciate your patience. Though we would love to describe the situation in
more detail, there's only so much we can say right now."
Cadogan was voted out of the group on Jan. 25, after the band's performance at the
Sundance Film Festival, and has since argued that he was unfairly terminated. A press
release on the guitarist's own site (www.kevincadogan.com) asserts that he had been
expecting to leave Sundance with the rest of the band to head to their Tonight Show
appearance, "but instead he was left stranded at the venue in Park City, Utah, as
Stephan and the others boarded a private jet to L.A."
Cadogan's attorney, Joseph J. Madonia, writes: "An attempt to improperly exclude
Kevin Cadogan from the ongoing activities of Third Eye Blind was made by the other members
of the band and their management... Appropriate legal options are now being pursued in
order to preserve and enforce Kevin's legal rights in and to Third Eye Blind."
STEPHAN SIGHTING! Stephan appears on page 24 of the February issue of COSMOGirl! The page
is one of those embarrassing moments pages, and in the bottom there's a section called
"Confession Corner" where there's a pic of Stephan and says:
"I was walking out of a museum and picking my nose. All of a sudden these guys
yell, 'Look! It's that guy from Third Eye Blind!' I was like, 'Guess that's it for
privacy. I'm not anonymous anymore.' " -Stephan Jenkins Third Eye Blind
