VEGAS, Nevada (October 4, 2000) - Two of rock's hottest groups, Creed and 'N
Sync, received four nominations each to head the list of nominees for The 2000
Radio Music Awards, an all-star spectacular which will be broadcast live from
Aladdin Resort & Casino Saturday, November 4, on the ABC Television Network.
Others who received multiple nominations are the legendary Santana, the Dixie Chicks and Sisqo with three each; and Vertical Horizon, Macy Gray, Destiny's Child, 98°, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Smash Mouth, Third Eye Blind and Aaliyah with two nominations each.
The two-hour special will recognize the achievements of recording artists and radio personalities in the musical formats of Top 40/Pop radio, Pop Alternative radio, Hip Hop/Rhythmic radio, Alternative/Rock radio and Country radio. In addition to the radio air play nominated awards, there will be categories for Most Requested Artist, Most Requested Song, Most Requested Party Song and Most Requested Slow Dance Song of the year by radio listeners. Music fans will vote for the latter two awards using a web site. Details of the fan voting will be announced shortly.
The nominations were selected based on radio station airplay as determined by Mediabase 24/7, radio's leading source for monitored airplay information.
